Characteristics

Typology: Toscana IGT
Grape variety: 50% Sangiovese and the rest Carmenere, Canaiolo, Colorino, Barbera, Merlot.
Body: Structured
Barrel refinement: Yes

Perfumes and scents: On the nose, it alternates between scents of plum and ripe cherry, with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and powder, finishing with a touch of rhubarb and quinine. On the palate, excellent freshness and finely elegant tannins offer a balanced and pleasant sip with a fruity and mineral finish.
Pairings: An excellent pairing with the great dishes of Tuscan cuisine and beyond.
Winemaking: The alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously at a temperature of 23°/25°. The different grape varieties are vinified separately, with maceration taking place over different periods, never exceeding 10 days. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for 18 months. It continues to age in the bottle for at least 6 months. It is a wine that can surprise wine enthusiasts immediately and after years of waiting.
Details / Anecdotes: Podere Poggiarello is as ancient as Villa Petriolo, and its vineyard gives us the finest fruits, gently caressed by the afternoon breeze that comes directly from the sea of Gorgona, along the Arno valley.
