Grape variety: Sangiovese 50% e il resto Carmenere, Canaiolo, Colorino, Barbera, Merlot.

Perfumes and scents: On the nose, it alternates notes of plum and ripe cherry with hints of cinnamon, vanilla, and powdery nuances, finishing with touches of rhubarb and cinchona bark. On the palate, vibrant freshness and elegantly fine tannins create a balanced and pleasurable sip, leading to a fruity and mineral finish.
Pairings: An excellent companion to the great dishes of Tuscan tradition and beyond.
Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation occurs spontaneously at a temperature of 23–25°C. The different grape varieties are vinified separately, with maceration times varying but never exceeding 10 days. The wine is then transferred to French oak barrels for 18 months, followed by at least 6 months of bottle aging. A wine capable of surprising wine enthusiasts both immediately and after years of cellaring.
Details / Anecdotes: Podere Poggiarello is as ancient as Villa Petriolo itself, and its vineyard gives us its finest fruit, gently caressed by the afternoon breeze that travels inland from the sea of Gorgona along the Arno Valley.
