Primitivo Et. Nera 2020

Deliveries starting at May 2026

The Primitivo Etichetta Nera Pietregiovani is grown on the Murge plateau, at an altitude of 400 meters. The area is characterized by significant karst phenomena. Seemingly a rocky desert, it is rich in aquifers and dotted with caves, ravines, and gorges. The winds and temperature fluctuations typical of this region impart distinctive traits to the wine produced here: a unique and elegant wine with a ruby-red color, aromas of cherry, sour cherry, chocolate, pepper, dryness, and good drinkability.

Compared to the Etichetta Bianca, it has more complex aromas due to the partial drying of the grapes on the vine. It contains a higher sugar residue, resulting in a higher alcohol content. The grapes are harvested late to allow partial ripening on the vine, typically 15 days later than the Etichetta Bianca. The maturation process is divided between steel containers (80%) and barriques and tonneaux (20%). Bottling takes place two years after harvest.
